Migration patterns of early humans

What routes did early hominids travel to settle in Southeast Asia? Paleoanthropologists addressed this question as of 2019 in an interdisciplinary research project funded by the Daimler and Benz Foundation, the Johanna Quandt University Foundation, and the Werner Reimers Foundation. In this project, the scientists used mathematical models and simulations – helpful tools for virtual reconstructions when the supply of data is unreliable. The funded project “Pleistocene Hominin Migration of Java: Multi-Scale Agent-Based Model Simulation” was carried out by Dr. Mika Rizki Puspaningrum from the Department of Paleoanthropology at the Senckenberg Research Institute and Natural History Museum in Frankfurt under the management of Prof. Dr. Friedemann Schrenk.
