Each year, the Foundation awards twelve scholarships to selected postdoctoral researchers, junior professors or heads of junior research groups. The objective is to reinforce their professional careers during the productive phase following their doctorates. The subsidy amount is 40,000 euros per scholarship, which covers a period of two years to provide flexible financing for academic assistants, technical equipment, research expeditions or participation in conferences, for example. With regular gatherings of young scientists from this constantly growing network in Ladenburg, the Daimler and Benz Foundation also promotes an interdisciplinary exchange of views and information. The promotional program is open to applicants from all scientific disciplines; there are no restrictions in terms of content. The Foundation is particularly pleased to receive applications from the hitherto underrepresented fields of the humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies.
The application deadline for 2022 expired on 1.10.2021.
The online portal for applications to the 2023 postdoctoral scholarship program will be available from June 1, 2022. Applications are possible from this date up to and including 01.10.2022.
