The 2023 Bertha Benz Prize has been awarded to Dr.-Ing. Maren Scheel. “Experimental Nonlinear Modal Analysis – Method development with particular focus on nonlinear damping” is the title of her thesis. She has developed an innovative measurement method that enables dangerous vibrations in composite structures – such as lightweight components – to be predicted. This new method is particularly suitable for use in aviation, the energy industry, and automotive engineering.
