Impulses for knowledge
Extreme emotional stress does not only affect individuals and their families; it affects society as a whole. How individuals cope with stress, however, varies widely. The Daimler and Benz Foundation has developed a research project to examine this phenomenon more closely. An integrated model has been developed to identify and examine the relationship between the genetic and psychological variables involved in an individual's reaction to stress. Once these factors have been recognized and defined, the knowledge garnered can be used to help prevent stress and burnout and to build up an individual's resiliency.
