“Science Streets”: How neuroscience is explained with comics

How do we think, feel and act? Neuroscientists are researching the fundamentals of human existence. They are investigating questions such as how the brain influences our relationships, what drives our habits and our decisions, or how memories are processed. These insights influence education, political decision-making, and the development of new technologies – and should therefore be made accessible to the general public in readily understandable form.

The “Science Streets” project sets out to reach people outside the so-called science bubble. As of June 2026, ten different neuro-comics will be unveiled at around 200 locations in the center of Leipzig – for example on advertising pillars, in public transport vehicles and on screens at the main train station.
