The Scientific Advisory Board gives counsel to the Board of Managing and the Board of Trustees. In addition, it maintains contact to scientific, economical and other institutions in public life. Members of the Scientific Advisory Board include group leaders of the discourses and collegia of the sponsorship program as well as scientists able to contribute to a critical reflection of the foundation's activity by their "external" judgement. The members are appointed by the Board of Trustees for five years. A reappointment is possible.
