The foundation concentrates the resources for research projects on priority points. A “Ladenburg Collegium”, in which scientists and experts from practice work together interdisciplinarily, and which is planned for three to five years, is organized for each key topic.

In a collegium

• special questions are treated in the form of workshops, seminars, study groups, and individual projects
• in the collegium meetings, research deficiencies are identified and, possibly, new research projects are initiated, and
• research projects connected with the collegium’s subject matter are accompanied, and the work’s results are presented.

The individual collegia remain to a great extent unchanged in their personal composition for the duration of the research activities, and ensure in this manner the continuity adequate for the respective subject.
